TO THERE AND BACK AGAIN

As a child who was born and raised in a suburb of Chennai in South India, I dreamt big which at that time appeared ludicrous and completely unattainable. I was on the downside of advantage and I had to rely purely on hard work, courage and kindness of people. No matter what your dreams are,  "It's Possible".

I watched Lord of the rings in 2001 and a child like dream ws born. I wanted to make New Zealand my home, one day. It took 13 long years for that dream to come true. After having granted a resident visa, I started a new chapter of my life in New Zealand. Upon entering the country, I ran/hiked the Te Araroa trail -- a trail that runs the length of NZ  (3054km) unsupported in 87 days. During this adventure I partnered with Tearfun NZ and raised funds for anti-sex trafficking cause. I was awarded the runner-up for the Wilderness Outdoor Hero of the Year for this feat.

Follow along as ultra runner Naresh Kumar leaves his job in California and embarks on a 3-month human powered adventure across the length of New Zealand along the Te Araroa trail.

FREEDOM SEAT NZ

In 2017, I went on a tandem bike expedition where I rode the length of NZ, Cape Reinga to Bluff, by picking up random strangers and friends along my way to help raise awareness and funds for TEAR FUND, #STANDWITHHER, anti-trafficking campaign.

My last passenger Tim Shadbolt rode with me in Invercargill during the last leg of Freedom Seat and finished in Bluff.
