A Tandem Bicycle Journey From India to Germany to Raise Awareness on Modern-day Slavery
In 2019, many of you were following the journey of Naresh Kumar. His 8646km trip, crossing 13 countries alone on a tandem bike brought out many bystanders who were curious! When people heard about why he was doing this, about the magnitude of modern-day slavery, many people, especially those with little to share, took the time to help pedal, welcomed Naresh into their hearts and homes, and gave what they could. The stories of this journey have been made into a wonderful little film, Freedom Seat. Watching it you get to go along for the ride, meet the people in places most of us have not yet traveled, feel some of the joy and pain of the long journey, and perhaps learn something new about how you can help those suffering in slavery today.
In very exciting news, the film has been accepted into the prestigious Kendal Mountain Festival this year! The film also made the official selection in various film festivals from around the world.
The film bagged the Audience Award at the Ciclismo Classico Bike Travel Film Festival in the USA
